home about me family photography food miscellaneous contact sweet lilia: 1 week old thursday, 25 june 2015 18:43 our friends cris and corrie recently had their third baby! she is the most precious thing and was such a sweet little girl for me during this mini-photoshoot! here are a couple pictures from our time together. i can't wait to see you again, lilia! you are a doll! comments our dog wednesday, 22 april 2015 13:25 so, we got a dog. and no one is as surprised by that fact as i am! i had a very strict rule that we wouldn't even consider getting a dog until our youngest child was potty trained. my husband has tried to talk me into getting a dog for several years now and i wouldn't even humor the thought. but when this opportunity presented itself it seemed too good to pass up, so we went for it. and i am still shocked that i was alright with it! but i sure am glad that i was able to be talked into it, because we ended up with the most perfect dog in all the world. so without further adieu, i would like to introduce you to the newest member of our family. :) this is pepper jack! he is a two and a half year old rhodesian boxer. he is fully house trained, calm, obedient and so very loving. he likes to be called puppy (which is what i call him), and the boy have started calling him buddy boy. its adorable. he hates thunderstorms and trains. he wants to be right up close to someone during a storm, and if he is outside when a train goes by our house he runs to the door and begs to come in. he is a protector. he doesn't let anyone come in the door without barking and smelling them first, to make sure they are supposed to be here. he takes this job very seriously, and it's one of my favorite things about him! he is playful. and he has yet to try and play at inappropriate times. that's another thing i love about him. when he is inside he is cool, calm and collected. he waits till he is outside to get all silly and playful. it's wonderful! his patience with the kids is remarkable. they are all over him constantly wanting his attention, and he just goes with the flow. he lets them pet him, snuggle him and lets them pretend they are training him. and he is especially patient with elijah. that crazy baby spends most of his days yelling orders at the dog in baby babble, and pepper jack does a wonderful job cooperating! he loves to run, fetch play tug of war and "play tag" outside with the boys. this toy has been a big hit with him. it combines two things he loves so very much. tennis balls and a rope chew toy! he likes his privacy while using the bathroom. (no joke. he goes to the other end of the yard behind a large tree where no one can see him do his business.) this is one of the funniest things to me. and zachariah is very protective of his privacy. he encourages everyone in the yard to look the other way when pepper jack needs to relieve himself. :) he is obsessed with daniel and gets so excited when he comes home. these two have had quite the bond from day one! in fact, he cried, whined and paced the house the first couple times daniel left after we brought him home. he's gotten used to daniel's schedule now, but man, it sure was pitiful! i am not gonna lie... i didn't expect to enjoy having a dog. i planned on tolerating it. not because i don't like dogs, but because i just didn't want the added responsibility. three kids is more than enough to keep me busy! but you guys, this sweet dog is just the best and i really enjoy having him around. we bond a bit more every day, and i have really started falling in love with this puppy. he has been with us for less than a week, but i already cant imagine our household without him! comments my brown eyed boy friday, 27 february 2015 14:24 the other day i had a very unexpected five minutes with micaiah in front of my camera. this child is not the easiest to photograph, and it usually takes bribing (or some really good flatulent jokes) to get a good smile or laugh out of him. but this particular day was quick and painless! i was rather excited that i was able to get a few updated pictures of my brown eyed middle baby. and of course, along with the couple good shots i got i was bound to get some "normal" ones. which i love! this child is a nut, and i am glad we constantly have documentation of that. :) and yes, that is a foot in my face. ;) hope everyone enjoys their weekend! comments happy birthday micaiah! sunday, 01 february 2015 14:48 it's my middle baby's birthday! micaiah turns four today and he couldn't be more excited about it! he looks forward to growing up, so each birthday is so very exciting for him. he constantly looks forward to going to college, falling in love and getting married. he is so excited about the future! it's adorable. ;) [ on a somewhat related note, every year i like to go back and revisit my blog post about micaiah's birth . it cracks me up every time. anyway, click the link if you want to relive that evening with me!] this child is such a nut. he is always telling jokes and acting flat out ridiculous in hopes of getting someone around him to laugh. inappropriate jokes and noises are always coming from his mouth. :p and not only is he a nut, he is a professional button pusher. no joke, this kid has a talent for finding buttons and pushing them! it doesn't take him long after meeting someone to figure out what annoys them most. and he doesn't just store that information away. much to zachariah's dismay, he uses those button pushing talents a lot. some of micaiah's favorite things are snuggling, painting, hot wheels cars, playing with legos, movie nights, playing board games, swinging and helping me cook. he is a quality time kid. it doesn't too much matter what you do, as long as he is able to do it with you. the things he hates most in life is to be alone. in his room, in the bathroom, outside, walking down the hall. good gracious, that kid can't stand to be by himself. he finds comfort in the presence of other people, so if zachariah is not available he is at my heels. and he has plenty of other dislikes. too many to list here. lets just say that his dislikes can vary from certain types of food to puppies, depending on his mood. the child is a malcontent. an adorable, silly, snugly malcontent. ;) to sum things up: this four year old makes our lives a little bit louder, funnier and happier. happy birthday, boogie. we love you bunches and bunches! comments elijah: 1 year old thursday, 15 january 2015 12:12 this sweet, sweet baby turned a year old back in november. and since his mother is a major slacker, it took two months for his one year pictures to be taken and posted. but better late than never, right? :) elijah has grown up so much over the past few months. unless he is teething, he is one heck of a fun baby. he is so silly, and loves to laugh. he sleeps wonderfully (7:30pm-8:00am most nights and he takes a three hour nap each day!) and he has quite the appetite ! he loves to play with his brothers, watch elmo and blues clues and he loves, loves loves to dance. when he hears music playing, nothing can stop this kid from breaking down and dancing. he about kills me with all the dancing cuteness! though this baby is a sweet one, he has one heck of a temper on him! when he doesn't get his way, he will through a fit. i'm talking about screaming, crying, throwing himself on the floor, crawling around the room dumping over toy baskets and throwing toys. his tantrums never last long and he always comes over for a hug after a moment of his terror, but this is the youngest any of mine have shown such a strong temper! one of my favorite things about this cutie pattootie is his smile. it melts everyone into a puddle right where they stand. and he has a couple teeth that are finally starting to show through that adorable smile of his! he has his front four teeth, two molars and he is working on getting another tooth or two in there. his teeth have come in the most random order. my other two h
